History of Ipswich Insulations Ltd

At Ipswich Insulations, we have a rich history that spans over six decades. Founded by Arthur James Nunn in 1961 in Ipswich, our company began its journey as a small operation. Primarily serving heat engineers who installed plant/pipework in hospitals, schools, government buildings, and larger properties. Over the years, we expanded our scope to take on new and challenging projects, including thermal insulation work on oil rigs, and insulating diving bells and decompression chambers in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This experience not only honed our skills but also allowed us to develop a reputation for excellence in the industry.

As the company grew, so did our expertise. In 1982, Arthur's daughter Alison joined the business, bringing fresh perspectives and new ideas to the table. She worked along side her father until his death in 2013. Under her leadership, we continued to adapt to changing regulations and technologies.Until the early 1980’s anyone could remove asbestos and the heating engineers often did this work themselves, but it became notifiable works and a license was required from HSE in 1984 and this was when we obtained our first licence and have held a licence ever since.Today, Alison remains at the helm of Ipswich Insulations, ensuring that our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction remains unwavering. Mark joined the company in 2011, having previously worked construction, and together with our team offer a reliable and efficent service.
